Kidspiration 3 in NISD

Beginning with new schools in the summer of 2011 and Fall 2011 deployments forward, all elementary schools will be getting Kidspiration 3 as part of their standard loadset on ALL computers. This will take the place of Inspiration at the elementary campuses.

I wanted to make sure you all knew to expect this so that you don't spend your valuable campus funds on that piece of software. Just an FYI that it will be coming to you at the time of your next deployment.

Here is an example of an email you might with to use/modify to meet your campus needs during your technology deployment and icons.

Dear all,

This is such an exciting time...new computers!!!

Please know that you are able to access all of your programs through the Start Menu and going into All Programs.

If you wish to have icons to your favorite programs on your desktop, I have put them in a folder for you to easily "shop" for...creating your own personalized desktop.

To "shop" for your own personal desktop icons, you will find I have placed a variety of the icons in the STAFF Shortcuts folder on your desktop (inside you will find a STAFF Icons folder). All you need to do is drag the icons you would like to your desktop!

Enjoy the beauty of having control of the icons on your desktop :)

CITs have found that teachers have found much use and comfort in having a few resources offline and easily accessible when they are stuck!

AV Carts

Just a bit of information to tuck away...

Part of the Bond 2010 will put an Elmo document camera in every classroom!!! These document cameras will not come with AV carts. The AV carts you currently use with your overhead projectors will be repurposed and used with your NEW Elmo document cameras.

Many of you are getting rid of your overhead projecters as they die. That is fine!

But, please keep your carts in the classrooms until your next deployment...when you get your Elmo document cameras to take their position on your AV carts!
