2011-2012 CIT Calendar

2011-2012 CIT Calendar

This year there is one calendar for both elementary and secondary levels. Passwords are the same as last year. URL is http://odin:591/CITTime10/index.htm - please let Helen Baca (77677) know if you have any calendar related questions or password concerns.

Joyce has asked that you keep track of your integration hours for the months of October and November and again in the Spring for March and April. As you know, she reports these hours to Senior Staff. If you with to document further for your administrators, you certainly can use it throughout the entire year if you wish :)

We ask that you self-monitor instructional time spent on your campuses this year, as your positions have now been split funded, with half of the funds coming from the 65% set aside for direct student instruction. We want you to make a good faith effort in documenting some of the many ways you support technology-infused teaching and learning in Northside ISD!

CIT Instructional Time Reporting

Just a reminder that if you haven't already completed a posting on your CIT Calendar for September 2009 Instructional Time, now would be the time to enter that information. Most likely you can revisit your own GroupWise calendars and lab calendars and report that time spent in direct instruction of students, which may have taken the form of co-teaching or teacher support during integration lab time.  Here's a refresh of the information on our process:

As a reminder, the online database is located at the following url for 2009-10 dates: http://odin:591/CITTime10/index.htm

We'll utilize it exactly as before - documenting time spent with direct student contact in the following categories:

Core Integration - in the lab, helping a teacher with a TIPPA type project - social studies, language arts, science, math

Electives Integration - in the lab, helping a teacher with a project - art, Spanish, etc.

Special Pops Integration - your support of large or small group projects with GT, Special Ed., ESOL

Library Integration - teaming with your librarian in working with student groups

Tech Interventions - assisting student groups navigating through any tutorial type software

Technology Applications - dropping in for a "guest teach" or demo in the ECT Lab, with Computer Lit, or perhaps a CATE type class

Student Pullout/Mentoring - perhaps a teacher wishes to send a portion of a class on a rotating basis for a project

Student Assessment
- for those times when you may be involved in testing
Student Monitoring - if you have been asked to cover a lunch duty, for instance (not really suggesting you volunteer)

Video Announcements - any time you spend in helping students with morning announcements

Academic Support - in case any of you support school-wide advisory or school-wide brief reading for example

You will be able to enter the site with your e-number (minus the e). If you don't recall your password, please request it from Helen Baca.

As you know, we typically randomly select 15 K-12 representatives per semester, for which we also send a PDF of one month of their records to the Finance Office to show our good faith efforts in documenting instructional time. For the later upcoming month of November, I'll separately notify those CITs.

Thanks so much to all of you - this has been a great help in our keeping this very important position funded for Northside!
