App Ideas for Reading Skills Practice???

I was asked by a NISD librarian for any APP ideas you all might have for practicing BASIC reading skills.

She has a group of 1st graders who are working on their basic reading skills. She is wanting to incorporate the use of her iPods to help give them additional individualized practice.

There are so many NEAT and COOL tools around us. I know there are times we get stuck when thinking about "how to use them with kids"??? This happens to me, I know.

How can we use this tool with kids?
What is allowed?
What permission is needed???
Do I have the hardware needed? ...at the time I need it???

Pretty quickly, it feels to overwhelming to try!
