How do I change my network password?
Posted to Google Groupies by Ernest Vasquez
You will continue to change network passwords in GroupWise for the rest of this school year. GroupWise is 90% disabled. The goal is to have it 100% disabled and removed from ALL desktops by the time you come back in August. You will be given instructions on the new way to change network passwords at the beginning of next school year. We control when GroupWise goes away completely so we won't leave you out there with nothing. Thanks for your patience in this massive undertaking of converting over 12,000 e-mail users.

STAFF EMAIL: Desktop Icons
STAFF EMAIL: Desktop Icons
Here is an example of an email you might with to use/modify to meet your campus needs during your technology deployment and icons.
Dear all,
This is such an exciting time...new computers!!!
Please know that you are able to access all of your programs through the Start Menu and going into All Programs.
If you wish to have icons to your favorite programs on your desktop, I have put them in a folder for you to easily "shop" for...creating your own personalized desktop.
To "shop" for your own personal desktop icons, you will find I have placed a variety of the icons in the STAFF Shortcuts folder on your desktop (inside you will find a STAFF Icons folder). All you need to do is drag the icons you would like to your desktop!
Enjoy the beauty of having control of the icons on your desktop :)
Please let me know if you have any questions...

Multi-Campus Drives and Icons on the Desktop
I hope I'm able to explain this clearly...I'll try!
I've had several questions about Icons on the Desktop and how to manage them on your "second campus" when you don't see the "second campus" LabShortcuts folder on the desktop...
You will not see your "second campus" LabShortcuts folder on the desktop, even when you map to your "second campus) by using the Multi-Campus Drives application. You will always need to go the long way and click through to your "second campus"...
For example, let's pretend I'm Vicki Fowler at Aue (first campus) and Leon Springs (second campus):
My Aue LabShorcuts will always showup on my desktop. So, it is very easy to edit the icons in one click. To edit my Leon Springs icons, I will access them the long way My Computer > N Drive > LabShortcuts > StudentDesktopIcons.
From there, you can edit your icons just like you always have.
Hope this helps!

Num Lock ON
The change was made today through Active Directory policy, March 30, 2011, to have Num Lock ON as the default when stations are started up!
Users can still manually turn Num Lock OFF, if needed.

Active Directory PCs - Please Don't Shut Down
Please remember to leave Active Directory PCs powered-up after school and at the end of the day. Students and staff should just log-off. Important remote installations and updates occur and our systems administrators depend on having those systems available. The PCs will shut themselves down in the evening (per the Power Management plan in place).
