Special Education - NEO/STAR Math

NEW BLOG POST
Special Education Software UPDATE: NEO and 2Know!
November 2011

Special Education has a NEO/STAR Math initiative. I wanted you to know the details of what is needed, as far as installation, for this initiative. This software CAN NOT be pushed. It will need to be installed by a technician, since part of the install will include the initial setup of the hardware (NEO, reciever, etc.)

PRIORITY INSTALL OF ONE SPECIAL EDUCATION LAPTOP: Your Special Education teachers are going to a training November 9, 10, and 11. They will be wanting this to be installed on ONE Special Education laptop before that training. I've let them know to put in the work order ASAP, but there are no quarantees. Please ONLY REQUEST ONE INSTALL at this time. I will let you know when it is ok to put in additional work order requests.

Three pieces of software need to be installed on the computer station:
SW2011-0125 NEO Manager v3.6
SW2011-0127 Renaissance Responder v1.05
SW2011-0128 Renaissance Place Print Plugin v1.3

PO#29050806

The Special Education contact for this initiative is Debbie Rhoades-Scales. If your Special Education teachers have any questions, they can reach her at 397-8786.

  1. Dana,
Should the software be installed on one of the new laptops that were purchased over the summer for special ed or should it be installed on the teacher's laptop? Do we need a PO to get the software installed?

    Thanks

  2. Who has the software?

  3. Matt, that decision is up to the SE teacher. If your school has teacher laptops, then that would be the best way to go. Schools who don't have teacher laptops yet, will choose to use one of their student laptops...for the training. I hope this helps.

  9. For now, they are just getting it installed on one laptop.

  10. The way I read this, it sounds like the Special Ed coordinator is the one who should put in the work order. Is that the recommended procedure here or do CITs put in the work order if the coordinator asks them to? Thanks

  11. How many licenses per campus? Can we have it installed on all of the Special Ed laptops or just one?????

  12. Judy, just one for now...it is a time intensive install. We just want them to have what they need for their training coming up.

  13. Pierre, that is correct...in most cases, the spec ed person will be the one to submit the work order. I like to keep you guys in the loop so that you are able to support, when/if needed. Hope this helps.
