MS Office 2007 Upgrade Schedule

MS Office 2007 Upgrade Schedule

Your Office 2007 upgrade is coming soon!!!

What kind of support is available?

1. Training and Devleopment is putting together a training JUST FOR CITs...neato, providing you an overview of Office 2007. This training will be two hours and will give you an opportunity to focus on the changes you need to be aware of...in helping your staff transition from 2003 to 2007. There will be a selection of dates and times over the next couple of weeks to choose from. Please lookout for that information from Elizabeth soon.

2. Office 2007 training documents are located here http://www.nisd.net/technology/training/. You might want to start looking through them...as you frame out what you want to cover with your staff.

3. Also, John Hayes has shared some video resources he created and used with the MS Tech Apps teachers. You might want to pull something from there as well.

  2. I know! We didn't have a time line until now...I know it is quick. I am sorry you didn't have more lead time...it is a SUPER thing, but I know what you mean.

  3. Wow! That is quick! I am really excited about it, but know that training will be useful!! When I had asked before I was told we wouldn't be getting it until we got redeployed...in three years!! So this is quite a switch~ can't wait for powerpoint!!!!!!

  4. Glad I asked. Thanks for your input, I'm sure it will be great!

  6. Driggers was already updated last month. Not sure why we're still on the schedule. I'm looking forward to the training though. :)

  7. Hey P! Actually, I put the schedule together from a BIG list they gave me...not taking into account the campuses they "piloted" the push to...like you! So, that is why you are still on the schedule. In an effort to ensure I didn't miss anyone, it may include those of you who already have it :)

  8. Ok, we got the update...can we go back to 2003 and copy everything to an outside source first and then get upgraded? I didn't realize we would be loosing so much. All of our Kidpix templates are gone, some of our excel documents are gone...one precious to my heart is my inventory which for some reason reverted back to the original way it was sent to me, without any of my addtions, corrections, pretty color codes.....like it's spankin' brand new....John R. said he thinks he can get it back and I am going to let him wave his magic wand and pray alot! But for those of you not deployed with MS 2007 yet, please take fair warning, if you want it, save it somewhere else...at least until we know what MS 2007 will do to it. Now oddly, it also affected our shortcuts like graphers, timeliner, and some of the spec ed shortcuts also.

  9. Susie...No, you can't get 2003 back. I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about with outside sources, etc. Also, I'm curious what you are seeing with your icons. I'll be at your campus on Tuesday to speak to a parent group. Perhaps it will work out for you to show me more specifically what has happened to you.

  10. Dana, we weren't scheduled to get 2007 until November 29-December 3. I just opened PowerPoint and it is 2007! Any ideas why we got our upgrade early?

  11. Vale also wasn't scheduled to get the update until November 29th. But all of my desktops have already received 2007. Did I misread the new schedule?

  12. Jackie, you didn't miss anything. It was a mistake....

I totally apologize for the confusion this occurred for you and your campus.

  13. Amy, the upgrade was a mistake in scheduling of the push. I'm so sorry for the confusion this caused your campus and you.

  14. It is to my advantage that I've had MS Office 2007 on my computer at home for several years. I am very much familiar with the changes to be taught to my students in my Computer Literacy classes. When the push arrived on my campus yesterday I was able to start the transition with my students.

  15. Happy Tuesday Dana,
To my surprise we were upgraded earlier! However, this worked very well because I started my week with my Day 3 and today is my Day 4, at least I am able to view the new look and get my hands on. I am still working with the older version at home, so this is my chance. So far everything is good, I am able to continue my lessons, just need to get use to the new look. I know the students will be surprised! Happy Thanksgiving!
