Laptop Inventory (for those above and beyond your OFFICIALLY DEPLOYED laptops)

Laptop Inventory (for those above and beyond your DEPLOYED laptops)

A great question was brought forth by Bonnie Debolt, CIT extraordinaire at Carlos Coon ES...

Can we use the LCAS (Laptop Computer Assignment System) to manage laptops above and beyond our OFFICIALLY DEPLOYED laptops (particularly referring to the special education laptops coming to campuses)?

Yes, you can!!!

In checking with Joe McMonagle, he said this is not a problem at all. He suggested using the STANDARD TIER code for these laptops. This is helpful information since that is a required field.

STANDARD TEIR code is TEA# + 3 zeros
Example for Leon Springs ES is 152000

If you ARE NOT a laptop deployed campus, you will have to wait until you are to use this handy laptop management tool.

Great question, Bonnie!

  2. Larinda, you will learn all about it when you are deployed with your laptops...

It is an online system through Lotus Notes (used with a hand held scanner you will get with your deployment), which will allow you to keep inventory of ALL the laptops you WILL have.

  4. What is your opinion? Should we check them all out to the Special Ed coordinator?

  5. So meanwhile, I should capture the NISD numbers from these laptops and continue my inventory process as I did before? I'm checking out the COW with laptops and key to the campus Special Ed coordinator. They'll be hers until the Special Ed Department says otherwise. She's excited to have them for the kiddos and so am I!!! :)
