AUP and Web Publishing/Interactive Websites

AUP and Web Publishing/Interactive Websites

Just a clarification on some questions I have received on the this year's AUP and Interactive Websites...

I'm so thankful to all of you being so conscientious of the new portion of the AUP that includes the YES/NO for student use of Web Publishing/Interactive Websites. I have received question as to when a student comes back with a NO, does this include Learning.com???

No, it doesn't include sites like Learning.com, Destination Math, Think Central, TTM, etc. These sites are learning tools part of our curriculum with secure data uploads, etc. These sites are appropriate for students to use with a YES or NO on the Web Publishing/Interactive Websites portion of the AUP.

The Interactive Websites portion of the AUP is referring to sites that focus on creation, collaboration, publication, etc. I have included this portion of the AUP to help as well.

All NISD campuses are able to use the Internet's rich resources, and also publish information on the Internet. As part of the curriculum, the school may wish to publish a variety of student products on the Internet. The types of products may include, but are not limited to: creative writing, artwork, slide and audio/visual presentations produced by the students and their teachers.

I hope this helps to clarify.
