HMH WriteSource Online
This is just an FYI...
Recently many of your teachers recieved an email, "Welcome to HMH's WriteSource e-learning platform"...
I'm sorry if this caused any confusion. During the district's efforts to upload teachers into the system for access, it was not told to us that that email blast to teachers would occur. That email can be deleted.
HMH WriteSource is the online supplemental material for this year's adopted writing textbook for elemetary. This adoption is being used by TEACHERS: grades 2-5, reading specialists, language support teachers, academic support teachers, and special education teachers. It will eventually also be used for STUDENTS: grades 2-5. That upload has NOT occured at this time. I will let you know when I have an update.
Your campus' Literacy Leaders will be facilitating the effort for getting teachers acquainted with this resource and will be the point person for WriteSource. Here is an email shared by Carolyn Denny to her Literacy Leaders on each campus...
Teachers received emails regarding registration for the HMH WriteSource e-learning platform before you could be notified. A five-minute video can be found in the Elementary Language Arts & Reading Moodle explaining the registration process and how to access products.
Students are in the process of being populated in the system.
Teachers should use the 4x4 password (first 4 of last name and last 4 of SSN).
CITs, if you are interested in viewing the video overview of WriteSource and are just interested in seeing what materials are in the Elementary Language Arts & Reading Moodle, Carolyn Denny has WELCOMED you all to "enrol in the course"...here is how you get there the first time.
Go to the PLC-2 Moodle and login with your network login and password
Under Courses, Click on Elemetnary Language Arts & Reading and Enroll in Course
Scroll down to Section 6
You will find the 7-minute video under Miscellaneous Videos
Again, Carolyn has WELCOMED us all to be enrolled and see what resources and information is in their Moodle space!
Please clarify who will have access to this. I was told our collab (spec ed) teachers would NOT have access. Is that something that will eventually happen?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Sandee, that is correct...special ed teachers will not have access...because they aren't included in the licensing. Carolyn is trying to figure out a plan, is there is on, on this. All details on that and WHO exactly has access will come through your Literacy Leader. This was just an FYI. Your Literacy Leaders will be the ones with the details to come.
