Your "NEW" School Training Needs

Your "NEW School Training Needs

In an effort to try to support you guys as best as I can, I would like to get an idea from you on who needs what kind of training you are finding yourselves needing.

I know many of your "NEW schools have technologies you might not be completely or AT ALL familiear with.

These are a few sessions I have brainstormed:
ELMO
Promethean Board
iPod Nano/iTouch Carts/Suitcases
Kidspiration

Note: Some of the SW/HW you all are listing is not supported by AT, they are supported by other departments (EX. NEOs, 2Know, Imagine Learning, Rosetta Stone, etc.) Please list it anyway...it will help me know overall needs to get contacts on these specific items.

Please respond to this post if you have any of these needs so that I am able to get an idea of numbers. ALSO, include in your post any other items you have come upon.

Usually I have a small handful of NEW CITs to support with unique hardware training needs, this year 35 of you are in NEW-ish situations.

I'll do my best to figure out a plan for you guys :)

    Since I am being deployed I can us iPod Nano/iTouch Carts/Suitcases training.

    I can always use more Promethean Board training.

    and I need help learning Spaninsh.

    Great idea Dana. I know here at LCE they have a ton of technology that I would like to become more familiar with. They have a subscription to an online PD for most of it, but I would like some training on the Elmos and the Promethian board.

    Hard to say. There are no records of what has gone before. I will need to do a survey like the old days. I do know I need help with iTouch sets.

    Mary, that was so funny! I need a Spanish class as well :) I'd also like to take some sewing classes, but that can wait till Spring :)

    How about a training on using Visual Communicator. I know we've had some training in the past but I kept waiting to purchase it until all the "kinks" were worked out by those mightier than me. Now one school already has it and my home campus gets deployed in April so I'm playing catch-up.

    It would be nice to have the "great ones" share their best practices, special additions of hardware, etc. (like a the green screen, mixer board or dazzle) and a sample of their actual broadcast explaining what is live, what is videotaped earlier, etc. Q & A.

    Oh, yes and I also need training on Neo2 and Rosetta Stone. So much to learn - would be nice if we could take a few days and have a mini TCEA type setting for us here. What do you say, Dana? Are you game?
