Lexia in Northide

Lexia in Northside

Curriculum and Instruction has made a purchase of Lexia "Flexi" licenses for 52 campuses. Because Lexia stand alone CDs are no longer supported by Lexia, this is a really good thing!

There are 52 schools currently using a total of 270 stand alone CDs. These CDs are being replaced by "Flexi" licenses. A Flexi license allows a student to login to Lexia from ANY computer on the campus where the Lexia client is loaded.

I just put in a work order for the 52 campuses involved. This work order is requesting that the Lexia client be installed on ALL the stations at your campus...to allow for flexibiltiy of intervention times and locations.

Sonya Tatsch is the lead on this software intervention and is keeping her reading specialists updated, but I wanted to make sure you all knew what was happening as well. There is no action required of you at this time. This is JUST an FYI for you :)

  1. Thanks Dana for the update and the work order!

  2. Do you want us to collect our Lexia CDs and send them somewhere?
Does this affect all Lexia levels?

  3. What level is this for? We have early reading, primary, and intermediate level CDs.

  4. Good question, Bertie...a bit down the road AFTER the transition to the web-enabled "Flexi" licensing...we will make a plan for the removal/destruction of the CDs. Don't worry about any of that for now.

  5. Great question, Sandra. The "Flexi" licensing covers all of the various pieces we use in Northside. Your reading specialist should have more details beyond that :)

  7. Bonnie, sorry this took me a while to get back to you. I didn't have my list with me. Looking at the list from Sonya Tatsch, Glass is on the list for Stand Alone, meaning that you all are working with CDs right now. If that is not the case, please have your reading specialist contact her to find out what you need to do. You might need to be removed from the install list. The list I have is from her.

  8. Dana,

What is the username and password for students to log on. My reading specialist and I have looked at the screen and don't see an administrator page.

    Did we overlook it?

  9. Noemi, I think all of the administrator type info will be covered during the training for Reading Specialists. The training is scheduled for February 24 and/or 25. They will be getting all of this information from Sonya Tatsch :)

  10. Thanks for your reply Dana. One more question:

The discs were not working right today. I was not in the lab when it was being used but heard of screens freezing, data being lost, and all that "good" stuff. Could it have been because the software was loaded on the computer?
