Audio Visual (A/V) Equipment Repair

A/V equipment includes such items as cameras, laminators, overhead projectors, portable sound systems, etc. In the past, as this equipment's warranty expired, Technology Services tried to provide continued support through the purchase of replacement parts and by providing repair services. Many A/V manufacturers have stopped producing replacement parts for older models of A/V equipment and/or are charging much higher costs for these replacement parts.

Effective immediately, Technology Services can no longer absorb the cost of repairing campus/department A/V equipment which is no longer under warranty. All A/V equipment under warranty will continue to be supported through parts replacement and repair services.

If it is determined an A/V equipment item is out of warranty and will not be repaired, a "Non-Repairable Equipment" letter will be issued with instructions for the campus to strike the item from their inventory and, if tagged, process the requisite asset transfer form for disposal.

If a campus desires to fund the cost of the replacement part for A/V equipment not under warranty, Technology Services will provide cost and ordering information. Then, Technology Services staff will provide the labor to make the repair.
