TITLE: Learning With the World...Project Based Global Collaborations PRESENTER: Jim Carleton/Mali Bickley, iEARN (Canada)
ReplyDeleteThis was a great presentation about using the available resources on the web to work collaboratively with other students from around the globe. One particular story was about how a 2nd grade class adopted a young child who began carrying a gun at the age of 3, and his parents had died (I don't recall the exact location he was from). This class raised money so this little boy could get an education. Over the years this class stayed in touch with him via the computer. They are all grown up and have had the opportunity to meet in person. What encouragement-over many miles as well as over the years.

This presentation offered information on some new sites to try. He seems to really care about technology integration and use in the education field. I really enjoyed his presentation.
The above site was one he recommended. It is easy to use and offers a great way to work on writing skills! Love it.
