24/7 Wifi Button ON - NISD Laptops
I know there might have been some inconsistent discussion previously from Tech Services and around.
To clarify, All NISD laptops should ALWAYS have their Wifi Buttons ON.
Laptop is docked = Wifi Button ON
Laptop is NOT docked = Wifi Button ON
Laptop is hardwired = Wifi Button ON
24/7 :)
NOTE: The StandBy Mode behavior/issues on HP laptops are still being researched.
We haven't gotten the laptops yet, but we bought one for our librarian and she constantly loses Internet connectivity while doing a lesson wirelessly. We have to hard wire it to get it back sometimes several times in a day. Is this normal? I'm concerned since we will be deployed with these soon. Thanks.
ReplyDelete...and if the laptop doesn't have a wifi button? Like the new laptops that spec. ed has...
ReplyDeleteEllen, I wouldn't say that is normal. I would suggest she put in a work order and give as much of that information you guys are seeing...just to ensure she does have the correct wireless profile setup, etc. Dana
ReplyDeleteAmber, I'm almost positive the Dell laptops have a wifi "slider" button on the side, no?
ReplyDeleteIs this just for the cow laptops or all laptops? When we use one for broadcast we always hard wire it because the signal is much better. Should the wifi be on when it is hard wired? Wouldn't that override the hardwire or is it vice versa? These are hp's. thanks
ReplyDeleteSusie, ALL the time.
