Most of us have the same TV model. That should mean that most of us have the same remote. Maybe not. But, if you have the big ugly Zenith clunker of a remote like mine, it is programable, even if you have another brand of VCR. It should have a little button on the top that says PRG. If it does, it should be able to work with your VCR. You need to know the code. Here is how you do it:
1) Hold down the PRG button for a while until the red light comes on.
2) Press the VCR button.
3) Punch in the 3-digit code number for your VCR (see reference below). Then punch ENTER. The light should blink and then go off.
4) Push the Power button and the VCR should come on. If it doesn't, repeat the process with another code for your brand.
It sounds hard, but it is really easy to do. Write down your number that works, for the future.
If you don't have a PRG button, there is still a way to do it. I have those directions at home somewhere and will find them, if anyone needs them.

Dana~ the code sheet only shows the first page, & it's really tiny.... am I doing something incorrectly?
ReplyDeleteSame with me. I am pretty sure he put it in an Excel document. Any ideas?
